HARRISBURG – Rep. Mark Gillen (R-Berks/Lancaster) announced today that the Wyomissing Public Works and Safety Facility project in Wyomissing Borough was awarded $1 million in state grant funding from Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP).
“I am pleased to see this project get the funding needed to enhance the safety facility, which will allow it to better serve our community and its residents,” said Gillen.
This project includes adding 265 square-feet locker room expansion; renovating the office area to include a large break room; enclosing a portion of the covered drive-thru area for a conference room and storage; and installing additional overhead doors for vehicle service bays. Additionally, a parking garage will be built in the borough's empty field with a possible truck wash bay building and secure police storage building attached to the parking garage.
The purpose of Pennsylvania’s RACP funding is to support critical expansion projects, providing opportunities for additional employment training, job creation and community services throughout the Commonwealth.
