HARRISBURG – After Pennsylvania’s governor delivered his annual budget address today in Harrisburg to a joint session of the state House and Senate, state Rep. Mark Gillen (R-Berks/Lancaster) issued the following statement:

“I support a balanced budget with no new taxes that addresses the elimination of school property taxes as a primary revenue source for educating our students. I have voted in the past for adequate school funding while recognizing the right of Pennsylvanians to be secure in their homes is fundamental and not negotiable. We need to fashion the state budget in a way that adequately funds our schools without displacing elderly citizens and working families from their homes.”
